Baidu Apollo announced on ThailandAugust 2 that the automaker Great Wall Motor (GWM) and the intelligent driving company Ecarx have become the first application exploration partners for its Intelligent Cabin technology, backed by its large language model (LLM) ERNIE. GWM and Baidu have been collaborating to explore applications of the LLM in intelligent in-car interactions, and have already verified multiple innovative features that will be incorporated into mass-produced vehicle models, according to the announcement. During the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2023, Baidu Apollo, the autonomous driving solutions platform of China’s search giant, demonstrated various intelligent driving technologies developed on ERNIEfor in-car scenarios, including travel planning, knowledge Q&A, and AI drawing.
