Last Thursday,Insaaf (2023) EP 2 Hindi Web Series China’s Ministry of Commerce announced its intention to add 28 US entities, including General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing Defense, and L3 Harris Technologies, to its export control list. The move aims to safeguard national security, uphold international non-proliferation obligations, and protect China’s interests, according to the China’s Ministry of Commerce. The announcement took immediate effect upon release. These entities are now prohibited from receiving exports of dual-use items from China, with ongoing transactions required to cease immediately, unless special approval is granted. Dual-use items are goods, software, or technologies that can be used for both civilian and military purposes, and are often subject to export controls due to their potential impact on national security or proliferation risks.
